1871 invites you to #BreakTheBias with us this 3.08 for International Women’s Day! Join us for a half-day of female-focused programming with two tracks – founder and leader. This event will be presented in a hybrid format, with the in-person experience taking place at 1871.


This year’s keynote speaker will be announced shortly – stay tuned.

Last year’s Keynote was Valerie B. Jarrett, President of the Barack Obama Foundation and a Senior Distinguished Fellow at The University of Chicago Law School

This year’s theme is #BreakTheBias, a call for all individuals to imagine a gender equal world and strive to forge women’s equality and a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.

Our free, virtual program will include a morning full of workshops, networking, and a special keynote speaker. Attendees can also choose between founder and leader program tracks.

Health and safety

The health and safety of our guests is of the utmost priority to 1871. All in-person attendees are required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination before entering, and we ask that anyone who is feeling under the weather switch to our virtual programming. 

Additionally, in-person guests are required to wear a mask when moving around the 1871 space, and encouraged to do so when in meeting rooms unless they are eating or drinking. Social distancing and spaced seating will be utilized and encouraged as possible. 

We are closely monitoring the health situation and will make adjustments as needed to ensure that all attendees are able to enjoy the programming safely.
