Twelve Latinx-led startups joined 1871 in late October for a 12-week accelerator program co-facilitated by 1871 and the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. 1871 and the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC) announced Friday that PNC Bank will be the title sponsor in 2017 for the 1871/IHCC joint accelerator program focused on fostering opportunities for Latinx-owned technology companies.

Applications are officially open for a new class of participants, who will begin at 1871 in March as part of an expanded offering of the incubator program made possible by a grant from JPMorgan Chase. The new cohort members will be part of the fourth cohort of the WiSTEM program, adding to the 37 companies and 45 entrepreneurs that have participated in the program to date.
