Q&A with Eliad Inbar, Founder & CEO yRuler
It’s that time again! Last week, Techstars welcomed its Summer 2014 class into 1871’s downtown Chicago Merchandise Mart space. Over the course of a 90-day period, Techstars offers startups $118,000 in seed funding, intensive mentorship, and a vast network of mentors and alumni for 7-10% equity in each company. After an intensive application process, 10 startups, 6 of which are originally Chicago-based, made the Techstars roster. Let’s meet them!
1. If you had to describe your company in one sentence, what would you say?
yRuler provides a “virtual try before you buy” solution for eCommerce retailers by re-using existing product images and enabling users to virtually experience products before purchasing.
2. What led you to become a part of Techstars & 1871?
We would like to thank Zeevi, Eylon, and Vova, Techstars ambassadors in Israel, who introduced us to the program and got us a call with Troy to ignite the process.
3. What are 3 things that get you excited about working out of Chicago?
First, we heard Chicago is a great city. So far, it exceeds all our expectations with great restaurants, parks, and most importantly the people here are so nice!
Second, working from 1871, together with 250 additional tech startups, is an incredible experience where there are endless opportunities for collaboration.
Third, Techstars managers Troy and Steve are world-class mentors. We didn’t imagine we could learn so much in such a short time.
