Meet the Top 5 2024 WMNtech Pitch Competition Finalists

1871’s WMNtech Pitch Competition returns for its third year to highlight and support women who are founding and leading tech startups across the globe. This 3-round pitch competition is a platform for women-founded startups to pitch their products and services for the chance to win funding, resources, and connections with VC firms. 

Cash prizes and equity funding from our VC partners, totaling $30,000 will be awarded to the finalists, alongside 6-months of free membership to 1871. Aloa credits, totaling a value of $20,000 will also be distributed, with $10k awarded to our first place winner and $2.5k awarded to each finalist in 2nd-5th place.

ASL Aspire, pitched by Co-Founder & COO Ayesha Kazi 

ASL Aspire is an online educational platform that teaches STEM education for K-12 deaf and hard of hearing students and their teachers. ASL Aspire is providing a seamlessly integrable curriculum that aligns with national core standards and is created in collaboration with deaf professionals who are actively developing new signs. Their interactive mini-games enable students to practice the signs while having fun, and our machine-learning technology enables them to validate signs in front of their webcam. With its user-friendly dashboard, teachers can track student progress and identify areas for intervention, making in-class instruction easier. ASL Aspire is committed to empowering students with the tools they need to succeed while providing teachers with an innovative solution to enhance classroom instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students.

Blip Energy, pitched by Co-Founder & CEO Sophia Wennstedt

Blip Energy is defining a new smart home category with an affordable, plug-and-play battery system. Blip leverages ML to optimize energy costs for any and every household, and supplies critical backup power in case of an outage. This distributed network of IOT batteries at the grid edge provides grid operators with the tools and data they need to stabilize the grid and lower operating costs – to support a better, smarter grid for all of us.

IN BOLD PRINT’s technology platform helps small to mid-sized companies in the consumer goods space measure their carbon emissions and grow their revenue by leveraging impact. Think of IN BOLD PRINT as the ‘TurboTax’ of carbon accounting.

MabLab, pitched by Co-Founder & CEO Vienna Sparks

Test your supply before your supply tests you. MabLab is building 5-in-1 test strips to detect the five deadliest lacing agents in recreational drugs. In response to one of our close peers who overdosed when experimenting with drugs for the first time, our team is dedicated to providing a harm reduction tool that will provide users with unparalleled accuracy in under three minutes — allowing them the dignity to know if they would be consuming lethal substances.

Partum Health, pitched by Co-Founder & CEO Meghan Doyle

Partum Health is a hybrid clinic founded to elevate care and improve outcomes for women and families by delivering the best of online and offline support through fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Partum supports families with essential specialty services, including behavioral health, lactation, nutrition, physical therapy, and birth and postpartum doula care, that together prevent and address the most common complications of the perinatal period, including the leading driver of maternal mortality – mental health conditions. Partum’s care experience includes coordination and care team chat as well as patient education via our mobile/ web app – and we offer clinical services covered via insurance including BCBS, United, Aetna, and Cigna. We are currently serving patients in IL and TX and have delivered thousands of visits while achieving a ~95 NPS.
