Panelist – Andy Chabassol is a Sr. Lead Technology Strategist at Lumen Technologies. Within Lumen, he advises customers in Digital Manufacturing (IT and OT), the Electricity Sector (Renewable Energy, Demand Side Mgmt, Power Generation, Smart Grid), and Media & Entertainment (Digital Reproduction, Online Streaming). For customers, he helps them align and deliver outcomes with technology – advisory, consulting, and professional services. Customers view him as an extended team member to help solve complex problems with different IT models (IaaS, PaaS, managed services), enterprise software deployments, and cloud computing.

Panelist- Fermin Fernadez, Founding Project Manager and Managing Director of the Chicago Connectory. Leading the Bosch IoT digital innovation team in the USA. Consistently looking to use Project Management as an enabler of results that allow people, companies, and communities to
learn and push the boundaries of possibility forward.

Fermin has been with Bosch for 20+ years in various locations around the world, leading projects in diverse business areas and environments. He can communicate in English,
Spanish, German, and partially in Portuguese. Squash is his sport, not so much his food.

Panelist – Manny Hernandez is the vice president of North America at Queclink Wireless Solutions. He
Over 15 years of experience commercializing IoT products for the big 3 major network carriers and MSOs like Comcast, Cox, and Google. 

Before joining Queclink, Mr. Hernandez was the Head of Product and Marketing for DCS in San Diego, overseeing the company’s software development, innovation, and marketing strategy.
From 2013 through 2017, Mr. Hernandez provided product development work for Spireon,
Montage Systems and Connected Holdings led to the very first Chip-on-Board solution, driving down LTE costs by more than 50% of the competition.

Prior to 2011, Mr. Hernandez worked at Franklin Wireless, serving as the Director of Product Management and helping his team to achieve the national’s first 4G launch by December 2008. 

Before 2007, Manny held various financial, operations, and logistics roles at T-Mobile and Toyota. Before 2004, Mr. Hernandez served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, providing logistical support for various units within the 1 st Marine Expeditionary Force, directly supporting over 500 missions; his unit was honored to receive the Presidential Unit Citation.

Aside from his career, Mr. Hernandez organizes and hosts local science events for children in
the Southern California region, helping to drive and inspire a love for science. 

Mr. Hernandez is an active member of the Advisory Board for the Continuing Education program at the University of California, Irvine (UCI); he holds a Bachelor of Science in IT / Computer Science from the University of Northern Virginia and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School.

Panelist – Eva Thomas has 20+ years in Telecommunications and M2M/IoT.  She has served in many roles, including Enterprise Sales, Product Management, Business Development, and Marketing.  Her strengths lie in legacy infrastructure, Smart Grid, Smart Cities, and Energy and Utilities.  Eva has been intimately involved in designing and deploying large-scale Smart Grid deployments, including metering infrastructure, Renewable integration into the Electric Grid, Demand Side Manage for electric usage curtailment, Smart Cities data aggregation and security compliance around initiatives such as NERC/CIP, DIACAP, and RMF.  Eva has also been involved in Smart Grid Standards development around communications, contributing to standards that support open architecture and interoperability.  Eva is also a Certified Climate Reality Advocate, trained by Al Gore and his team since 2013.
